-
- Well, I dont know about modems (never had one) but I know that internet playing
- is next to impossible for BM. The BIG problem is that Bad Mood *needs* (AFAIK)
- to know the complete state of the machine, and needs it as fast as possible.
-
- To achieve this, it sits in supervisor mode. This prevents eg. MiNT from
- switching it out, and letting another process run - this includes the Mint-net
- demons that are required to interface with the net.
-
- I expect Flinny can confirm this, but I doubt very much that Stik can interface
- with a non-gem program (ie no communication with DA's) which sits in supervisor
- mode (making Stik unable to do anything).
-
- The only other solution is to write our own TCP/IP stack - and look how long it
- has taken for Stik to arrive!! (yes, I know Mint-net has been around for ages,
- but you see my point...)
-
- Basically, the idea of internet play is probably a non-starter... Modem
- connection, on the other hand may be, but I dont know....

-
- Yes, this is a shame... It would be nice to play against PC Doom, but it isn't
- going to happen... :(

-
- I see no reason why not - so long as the protocols support it...
